Zone 2 Cardio Trend Not That Effective?

    Most runners are familiar with the Zone 2 heart rate cardio training, but is it really all that great? 

    Studies are finding otherwise...

     

    For those not familiar: 

    Zone 2 heart rate training = moving at a pace where you can still hold a conversation, usually around 60-70% of your maximum heart rate.

    It may feel “easy,” but the benefits are huge:
    ✅ Builds aerobic endurance & fat metabolism
    ✅ Strengthens your heart and mitochondria (your body’s energy engines!)
    ✅ Improves recovery and overall fitness foundation

    Think: brisk walk, light jog, steady cycling, or rowing at a sustainable pace. Consistency is key—30–60 minutes, a few times a week, goes a long way.
