Pearl Hill, an upscale neighbourhood in Tanjung Bungah, Penang where you can find a forest trail filled with bitumen ensures a smoother ride. A very good place for cyclist to start their decent hill climbling to build up stamina and experiences before challenging "Penang Hill", the hardest hill-climb cycling in Penang.
Pearl Hill is accessible from two roads; one is Jalan Bunga Pudar on the north side, and the other is Jalan Cheah Phee Cheok on the east side. The ride up the hill is one continuous climb for about 2.2 kilometers, it will take you about 30 minutes from foot of hill to the top. Do some warm up cycling at the foot fill residential areas with gentler slopes before tackling Pearl Hill. The slopes up Pearl Hill are fairy steep but doable, just cycle up at your own pace.
A good time would be under 15 minutes, but the real challenge is to do non-stop continuous rounds. To take the final hill-climb chanllange "Penang Hill", you must be able to do at least 3 continuous rounds without stop and rest. The more non-stop continuous rounds you able to achieve, the higher percentage you can do well in Penang Hill challange. If you can cycle Pearl Hill 10 rounds without stopping, you also can join the G-club Pearl Hill Challenge!
