PENANG – The Pantai Malindo Half Marathon 2025 successfully concluded on February 16, 2025, bringing together over 200 runners from Malaysia and abroad.

Participants navigated the scenic race route set against the stunning backdrop of the Balik Pulau Forest Reserve, demonstrating their endurance and enthusiasm.

The event featured two categories, the 21km Half Marathon and the 10km Race, with runners navigating a flat and well-paved route through coastal roads, rural villages, and lush paddy fields.

The half marathon flag-off took place at 6:00 AM, while the 10km race began at 6:40 AM, allowing participants to experience the natural beauty of Pantai Malindo.

The 21km and 10km races saw strong participation across multiple categories, with runners pushing their limits to complete the scenic course.

Tarashisio Marichu Gitahi achieved the fastest time in the 21km category, finishing with a time of 01:09:48.

 

 

 

Mohamad Nur Radzman Bin Mohamad Munib secured the fastest time in the 10km category, completing the race in 00:34:28.

Runners who completed their respective races received event T-shirts, finisher medals, and e-certificates, while the top five finishers in each category were awarded trophies.

Participants also enjoyed beverages, goodie bags, and the use of timing chips for accurate race tracking.

YB Dato' Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik and Dr. Robert Kirby delivered speeches highlighting the importance of fitness, community engagement, and the growing appeal of endurance sports in Penang.

The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and an exciting lucky draw session.

The grand prize, an electric scooter, was won by one lucky participant.

The second-place prize was a pair of Brooks Ghost 16 running shoes, while the third-place winner received PADO Fantasyland tickets.

Additional prizes included Signature Market mixed nuts worth RM128 per pack and Spin accessories for ten lucky winners.

The Pantai Malindo Half Marathon 2025 brought together running enthusiasts to embrace fitness, sense of community and the stunning landscape of Penang.

The marathon was organized by Howei Events and supported by Spin, Brooks, Decathlon, Ken Prima Cosmeceuticals Sdn Bhd, and SJK(C) Yu Chye.
