California personal injury law firm, Bisnar Chase created the Car Accident SideKick app for the iPhone to assist drivers after an accident. Before we talk about the elephant in the room, let’s mention what the application does: it has an accident checklist, flashlight tool and the ability to file a claim with the owner's insurance company. It also can record photos and statements from each driver, connect them to 911 and direct them to the nearest hospital...just like every other (app-less) smart phone can.

Now the elephant. The app was created by a law firm, so in addition to all of the above, it also features a GPS locator that will help the user find a local personal injury lawyer. Despite the app's positive reviews on iTunes, it could be a waste of megabytes to have an app that does pretty much everything your iPhone can already do. But for those who become too shaken by a fender-bender to remember what to check and who to contact, this app could offer some peace of mind.
